ChargerLAB POWER-Z CT001 USB-C Cable Tester - With 24 LED Indicators, CR2032 Battery Powered
Code: LA240179

Product detailed description
ChargerLAB POWER-Z CT001 is a pocket-sized tester that shows you exactly what your USB-C cable is capable of in a second. Simply plug the cable into the two USB-C connectors of the tester, and 24 independent LEDs will light up precisely the pins that are connected in the cable – power, data pairs, CC, and side SBU conductors. You can immediately tell if the cable supports fast charging, USB 3.x data transfer, or video transmission, or identify exactly which pin is broken. The tester is powered by a CR2032 coin cell battery, so it requires no computer or power source and fits easily into a pocket or travel bag.
How it differs from cheap cable testers:
- See the specific pin, not just "on / off": standard cable testers only verify power and one data pair. The CT001 has a separate LED for each of the 24 pins, so you know exactly which conductor is broken.
- Expose cables that seem functional: does the cable charge normally, but the drive won't connect? On the tester, you will immediately see that the TX/RX pairs are missing.
- Identify video transmission cables: based on the lit SBU1 and SBU2, you can distinguish a cable suitable for DisplayPort Alt Mode from a standard charging cable.
- No Software, No Power Source: no computer, app, or external power needed – just plug in the cable and read the LEDs.
Specifications:
- Model: ChargerLAB POWER-Z CT001

- Battery replacement: modular battery compartment, four Allen screws
- Dimensions: 53.48 × 33.43 × 8.72 mm
- Weight: 17.8 g
- Design: PCB with plastic cover
Ideal for:
- quickly sorting a pile of cables in a drawer into "charging" and "data"
- finding the cause of why a phone is charging slowly or why a drive won't connect
- checking cables before installation at a customer's site or while on the road
- verifying newly manufactured or repaired cables
- incoming quality control of cheap cables from e-shops
How to read the result:
- Only VBUS, GND, CC, and D+/D− are lit: the cable is designed only for charging and slow data transfer (USB 2.0).
- TX and RX pairs are also lit: the cable supports high-speed data transfer.
- SBU1 and SBU2 are also lit: the cable supports video and audio transmission.
- One of the D+/D− pairs is not lit: this is normal – according to the standard, a USB-C connector has only one USB 2.0 data pair.
- Only one CC pin is lit: the cable may only work in one connector orientation. Most devices can handle this, but if charging is problematic, try flipping the cable.
- A pin that should be lit is not: the conductor is broken or the connector is faulty – discard the cable.

Full-featured cable: all pins are lit, including TX/RX pairs and side SBU – the cable supports charging, high-speed data, and video transmission.

Each connected pin has its own LED, so you can read the result at a glance.

The tester operates independently via a CR2032 battery – just plug the cable into both connectors.

Charging-only cable: only the power pins and the USB 2.0 data pair are lit; high-speed pairs remain off.

- 1× ChargerLAB POWER-Z CT001 tester
- 1× CR2032 battery (included in the tester)
Note:
- The tester checks wire continuity, not their resistance, current carrying capacity, or eMarker chip content. A cable with lit LEDs is connected correctly, but this does not indicate its maximum power (60 W / 100 W / 240 W) – use an FNB58 or FNB48S meter for that.
- The tester only measures cables with USB-C connectors; USB-A to USB-C cables can be tested using an adapter.
