Raspberry Pi the camera module can be used to record HD video as well as take photos.

The camera works with all Raspberry Pi models that have a camera SCI connector and can be accessed using the MMAL and V4L APIs. There are also a number of unofficial libraries, including the Picamera Python library.

The lens of this camera module is interchangeable, making it suitable for mobile or other applications where image size and quality are important. Connects to Raspberry Pi with a short cable. The sensor has a resolution of 5 megapixels and a fixed focus. Regarding still images, the camera is capable of 2592x1944 pixel images and also supports 1080p30, 720p60 and 640x480p60/90 video.
