An RC snubber is a protection module for switching inductive loads, such as electric motors, pumps, fans, or contactors. It dampens voltage spikes and arcing on relay contacts during switching, thereby extending their service life and limiting electromagnetic interference (EMI) that could affect a microcontroller. The module consists of a series RC network (resistor + film capacitor) and a parallel-connected varistor to capture rapid overvoltage pulses. It is connected in parallel to the relay switching contact, or alternatively to a triac or thyristor, and is suitable for both AC and DC circuits.

Important note:

• The varistor is rated for 300 V AC / 385 V DC. Do not connect the module to a higher voltage (e.g. 400 V between phases), as the varistor would be destroyed.
• The module operates with mains voltage. Installation must be performed only without voltage and by a qualified professional.
