The VEML7700 sensor from Vishay is a high-precision digital ambient light sensor with 16-bit resolution and an I2C interface. With a wide dynamic range from 0 lx up to 140 000 lx and a resolution of up to 0.0042 lx/step, it covers applications from dark rooms to direct sunlight. The sensor features adjustable gain and integration time, allowing for the optimisation of both power consumption and accuracy. It is suitable for automatic display brightness control, smart lighting, or weather stations with Arduino, ESP32 or Raspberry Pi.
