RTC (Real Time Clock) is a circuit that accurately and reliably tracks time and date – far more precisely than the internal clocks of a microcontroller. The breakout featuring the PCF85063A circuit operates with extremely low power consumption, and thanks to the alarm function and interrupt pin, the microcontroller can sleep and be woken up by the RTC. The built-in backup battery holder ensures that time continues to be tracked even after a power failure.
