The BNC (Q9) panel mount socket is used to route a coaxial signal to the front or rear panel of a device enclosure. It is suitable for home-built measuring instruments, signal generators, oscilloscope inputs, video and RF applications, or for connecting probes and test leads with a BNC connector. The connector is secured into the panel hole using a nut with a star washer, and the centre contact is soldered. The ground is connected via a solder lug placed under the nut.
