Good Display GDEY0583T81 electronic paper display with a 5.83" diagonal, 648×480 pixel resolution, SPI interface, and the ability to display black and white images or 4 levels of greyscale. The display refreshes very quickly – full refresh takes 3 s, fast refresh 1.5 s, and partial refresh only 0.3 s, making it suitable for continuously updated data such as clocks, weather stations, or information panels. The image you display lasts indefinitely without power – simply show the image and then turn off the power; the content will remain on the display. The display is therefore ideal for low-power devices powered by solar sources or batteries.

E-Ink (or E-Paper) is a so-called electrophoretic display, i.e., a display containing white particles in microcapsules dispersed in a thin layer of dark viscous solution. By applying a short pulse, the white particles move towards the front of the display and the pixel appears white; a pulse of opposite polarity makes the pixel appear black. The high viscosity of the solution causes the particles to remain in their position practically permanently. The display is purely reflective, emits no blue light, and is read similarly to paper.
